Navigating Sustainable Waste Management

In our Rubbish & Recycling section, you'll find information on responsible waste disposal and recycling practices. From understanding local recycling guidelines to minimizing waste output, for reducing environmental impact.

RUBBISH
General Rubbish day is Friday mornings.

RECYCLING
Please put cardboard, Number 1 and 2 plastics in the yellow rubbish bin, NO GLASS OR RUBBISH.

RECYCLING BLUE BIN
Glass only (NO PLASTIC OR LIDS) – Do not overfill! –

Please take any extra bottles home with you, put in the red bin or take to the Te Puke recycling centre.

GENERAL RUBBISH RED BIN
Please put all your general rubbish in this bin.

TE PUKE RECYCLING CENTRE
36 Station Road, Te Puke

Tuesday and Thursday 9.00am – 3.30pm

Saturday 9.00am – 4.00pm (Closed Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday)

  • A free recycling service is available for:
    Paper and cardboard | Steel and aluminium cans | Glass bottles and jars

  • Plastics – ‘Number 1’ type (soft drink bottles) and ‘Number 2’ (milk bottles)

  • Printer cartridges | Fluorescent lighting

Please check the recycling symbol on the bottom of the bottle or container, remove lids and rinse before you drop them off.

The centre will also accept green waste. It’s important to note that fees do apply for this service and there are a small number of items that won’t be accepted.

The stem diameter must be no thicker than 100mm and length no longer than 3 metres.
