ABOUT PUKEHINA BEACH

Pukehina – Bay of Plenty holiday accommodation

Here in the sunny Bay of Plenty on the East Coast of New Zealand, lies a small friendly community, along six kilometres of white sandy surf beach with crystal clear and clean waters, beautifully kept and protected sand dunes, an estuary safe for toddlers and young children, beautiful parks and reserves and thriving rural farms extending out into the surrounding communities. All of this offering its six hundred residents and visiting holiday makers an unforgettable experience, whilst enjoying all of its uncrowded and secluded scenic beauty, outdoor pursuits, activities and relaxed lifestyle.

Pukehina Beach provides the ultimate Kiwi beach holiday

The magic of Pukehina Beach comes with its rural background and abundant wildlife including dotterels and oyster catchers, herons, ducks, geese, tui, kingfisher and shags found in and around the estuary.

If you are lucky enough you may even catch a glimpse out at sea of our visiting dolphins, orcas, seals and more. Share our spectacular views from the beach looking out to Motiti and White Island, or across the estuary to Little Waihi.

Location

Pukehina Beach is located approximately 25km east of Te Puke, the kiwi-fruit capital of New Zealand, ending a scenic 241 km drive from Auckland, 43 km from Tauranga, 47 km from Whakatane and 59km from Rotorua and its surrounding lakes. The new eastern arterial route (TEL) has now reduced traveling times from Mount Maunganui and Tauranga considerably. From State Highway 2 turn into Pukehina Beach Road, and about 4 km along the road turns onto Pukehina Parade.
